Finally! A solo Saint Floral workshop is on the horizon! After so many lovely requests from my fellow social media followers & Saint Floral fans to attend one of my floral workshops, I am so pleased to announce the reveal of my first storyteller workshop! I'm going to start as I mean to go on, so by this I mean these are going to be full of inspiration, discovery, romantic style & story with an equally dreamy location as our backdrop for the day.
Introducing you to the first of many floral storytelling workshops, hosted by myself (and collaborator from time to time) which will take place throughout the seasons, residing in characterful & often period locations to suit the aesthetic of the season & the theme of the workshop (or the same venue should this be a success!).
Join me for an inspirational morning..or day (yes the day is split up into two parts which caters for all abilities and you get to choose the first, and second part if you're feeling really inspired to get creative with flowers on a larger scale!) at the stunning Donnington Priory in Newbury, a Georgian country house (antiques auction house by day) as I teach you romantic & experimental yet relaxed floral curation through the layering or flora, foliage, fragrance, texture and colour in the form of creative floral display, artful bouquets, installation & prop styling.
This will all take place alfresco with the country house as our serene-dream backdrop (think Burne-Jones romance or Sense & Sensibility on a late Summer's afternoon) with the gunnera-lined River Lambourn running through & adjoining copper beech forest which we will be foraging in for wild & wondrous flora, vines & branches!
From a morning on the patio learning the art of creating & styling a romantic handheld bouquet followed by an alfresco seasonal lunch and refreshments, to an afternoon working on dream-like floral installations by the river & forest hideaway (those of you who like me lust over images of botanical editorials that seem only apparent in dream, now this is your chance to create & style your own!), this will be a day jam-packed full of story & beauty.
Throughout the day you will be working with the prettiest, seasonal variety of English & Dutch flowers & foliages that embrace both soft to seductive colour & texture. To up the dreamy factor even more you will be styling your flowers amongst antiquated treasures, curios & candelight. There will also be some cameo appearances from a few favourite interior & sundry suppliers!
My floral storytelling workshops welcome ALL ABILITIES; from the budding to experienced florist looking to expand their floral skills, creative boundaries & portfolios for future weddings/events, to those who simply love flowers & unique floral design, this one is also for you! I will be with you every step of the way, offering you reassurance, sharing insider floral tips and talking relaxed technique and construction.
You will come away with heaps of floral and style inspiration, insider floristry skills, at least one bountiful floral bouquet and a collection of beautiful images of your creation/s as a reminder of your day.
